BLAIRSVILLE – The Dawson County Tigers (4-2, 2-0) rolled off 52 consecutive points to recover from a 7-0 deficit to defeat Union County (4-3,0-3) 52-21 on Friday Night. In the win, Junior Sevaughn Clark and Senior Quarterback Coey Watson racked up over 200 yards of total offense each. The Tigers taillied 519 yards in total offense.
Union got on the board first on a short drive after a Watson pass was tipped to a defender for an interception. The Panthers took the 7-0 off the first of two Cole Wright passes. The Tigers started the rally with Payton Allen hitting a 26 yard field goal early in the second quarter.
Dawson continued the rally behind 210 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Clarke and 182 yards from Watson through the air, but it was Robbie Rarick getting the first touchdown on a 12 yard run with 6:07 remaining in the half. After the Allen PAT, Dawson gained the 10-7 lead that would go un-relinquished.
With the defense keeping Union in check , Dawson would get two more scores in the quarter
